General Events:
  • Art: Art Is Tasty at the Delaware Art Museum, noon to 1pm. $12-$14.  Includes lunch and a discussion of a work by Luis Cruz Azaceta.
  • Art: Art on the Town, 1st Friday art loop in Wilmington. http://www.artloopwilmingtonde.com/
  • Comedy: LOL @ the Grand - 10 comic finalists compete for a chance to open for a touring comedian at the Grand Opera House.  8pm, $10.
  • Film: Showings at Theatre N: Inescapable and Sound City. http://www.theatern.org/Films
  • Books: Concord Mall UAWW book sale goes on Friday through Sunday during mall hours.  Sunday is 'fill a bag' day, not sure what they're charging for a bag this year.
Concerts:
  • Lower Case Blues at Mojo Main. 2 opening bands. 9pm, $5.
  • Porch Chops 25th anniversary concert at WCL at the Queen. $16.
  • Jazz/pop trumpeter Chris Botti at the Grand Opera House. His last two shows at the Grand sold-out, so call the box office at 1-800-37-GRAND before you go. Price not advertised on the Grand's website.
  • Revolve: A Tribute to the Beatles at the Kennett Flash. 8pm, $15-$18.

I usually don't include this many Philly shows, but almost every small to mid-sized club
in Philly has a decent line-up tonight.

  • Ballake Sissoko & Vincent Segal: Kora and Cello at Arden Gild Hall. "Chamber Music is a collaboration between Ballake Sissoko, who plays the traditional kora, a lute-harp from Mali, and Vincent Segal, the French cellist who plays for the trip-hop band Bumcello." 8pm, $20 (Philly Funsavers users can get tickets $10 off through the weekly email - again - I'm not affiliated but I highly recommend getting the Funsavers email because there's almost always at least one good deal).  http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/304817

  • Three Legged Fox, who apparently played their first show at UD's Battle of the Bands (winning it) in 2006, at The Note in West Chester. $12.
