SATURDAY 11/10:
  • Showings of Hello I Must Be Going, Tom Wolfe Gets Back To Blood, and a matinee of children's classic Fly Away Home at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
  • Jazz jam session at The Nomad Bar at 9th & Orange. Every Saturday, 4-7:30pm, FREE.
  • (This is not a family-oriented blog, but I'm including this by special request. Wilmingtonic loves requests): Lolly Hopwood & the Let's Play Today bunch at the Queen. Interactive song & dance & bubble popping for kids.  11am, $7-$10. http://queentickets.worldcafelive.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=388
Concerts:
  • John Flynn at the Queen.
  • Singer-songwriter Graham Alexander at the Kennett Flash. $12-$15.
  • First Annual "Delaware Death Fest" at Mojo Main (not really my genre, or yours, I'm guessing, but people don't put many small-scale music festivals on around here, so I have to give them props for trying). Featuring: Internal Bleeding, Dehumanized, Supremia, Insatanity ... oh good lord, I can't keep typing these names with a straight face.  Suffice it to say there are about 7 more of them.   I will say, though - it looks like most of these bands are from NY, Boston, and elsewhere out of state, so they should put on a pretty stage-ready show, at least, if this is your thing. 4pm-1am, $11-$13. More info.
~In Philly~

  • Paul Banks (lead singer of Interpol) at the Trocadero. $15-$17. Like a lot of people, I loved Interpol's debut album, liked their sophomore album well enough, and disliked their third album.  I wonder what Paul Banks' role in the songwriting of those albums was.  Interpol is definitely a prime example of a band that did their best writing before fame struck.
  • The Low Road at the Tin Angel. $12
  • David Bromberg Big Band at the Keswick Theatre.
  • Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience at the Electric Factory.
