I will only be able to update this blog sporadically for the next few months. However - help yourself to these handy links that I use in compiling my lists!

1) I will be moving somewhere temporarily for the next few months (no, not jail!).  There is an unbelievable amount of things I need to get done before that happens in 3 weeks.

2) I will not have my own internet access in that time.  At most I'll be able to check my email a few minutes a day from a coffee shop, on an iPod.  That's not exactly conducive to running a blog.

However, there will be times when I do have better internet access, and I will try to sneak in a post here and there.   So - I'm not exactly retiring this blog yet, but it's going to a "when I have time and internet access" basis for a while.

I may resume regular posting in the fall.  As many times as I've thought putting out this blog was a pain in the ass, I'm going to miss this.  I really care about getting more Wilmingtonians to support some of the endeavors I've recommended.

In the meantime, here are some websites you might want to check out if you're looking for the kinds of events that I've posted about in the past.

Cultural events pages:

  • DelawareScene, a different blog (that tends to be more family-friendly, all-ages than mine.  More classical concert listings, less rock music).  I refer to this to find ideas about lectures, plays, museum events, etc: http://www.delawarescene.com/

  • InWilmington.  This is the official city-sponsored page for events going on in Wilmington.  I only refer to it when I really had the time, because I find the format incredibly tedious to use (as in maximum amount of clicks to find a little bit of info).  http://inwilmingtonde.com/

Concert pages:

  • Calendar for Mojo Main, in Newark (they have their issues, but really they're one of the only places in the county for fledgling and up-and-coming local bands, that aren't cover bands and are a little on the "heavier" side, to play): http://www.mojomain.com/calendar

  • WXPN / Swollen Fox calendar for almost all non-classical concerts going on in and around Philly.  I feel like it's my dirty secret that I get almost all of my Philly listings from here, but for the first year of this blog, I went through every Philly clubs calendar one by one, like I do for the Delaware clubs.  This is so much easier: http://xpn.org/events/concert-calendar

  • Spaceboy Clothing, on lower Market Street.  They host punk shows sometimes.  Not a lot of shows I'd be into, personally, but I admire their DIY efforts.  Wilmington needs more of this kind of thing. Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/spaceboyclothing

  • Kelly's Logan House Facebook page.  It's the only place I've ever found to get info about the handful of original band shows they host, but they tend to really lag in getting info out there.  Still, every once in a while they have a really good show.  http://www.kennettflash.org/tickets.html

  • Mojo 13 in Claymont.  I've made no bones about the fact that Mojo 13 is not my scene.  In the early days, Tric Town brought some good indie rock shows there, but now my perception is that they host mostly hard-core bands.  I could be wrong about this.  But it's hard to get a sense of the bands that play there, beyond their names (which often have the words "Death" or "Corpse" in them).  This is the only website I ever found that lists a music calendar for Mojo 13, and info is scant here: http://www.kennettflash.org/tickets.html . This is their Facebook page, which may have event listings that give more detail about the bands: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kellys-Logan-House/51853472989?sk=info#!/mojo13delaware?fref=ts
