Philly Funsavers puts out a weekly email, by subscription, that points out discount ticket offers for that week. Usually it's 50% off certain plays and concerts (including some for the Arden Gild Hall), but this week the email is a package of various area institutions that are offering discounts on annual memberships. Included in this are the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Newark Symphony Orchestra (just to show that it's not just Philly-centric), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Arden Theatre Co., Opera Philadelphia., the Wilma Theatre, the Walnut Street Theatre, and a couple of dozen more.
I'm not sure if you actually have to sign up for the weekly email to take advantage of these online offers. I think it's a worthwhile, non-spammy weekly email to get, but if you can grab half price annual memberships to these places without signing up for anything, go for it. Here's the link:
