General Events:
  • Pawpaw Folk Festival at the Blue Ball Barn in Alapocas, off of Concord Pike. "Music, story tellers fun, ‘down home’ crafts and Pawpaw fruit tasting. 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m".
  • Winterthur Farm Stand, every Saturday from 9-1, on the side of Rt. 52.
  • Saturday bluegrass jams at Woodside Creamery near Hockessin/Pike Creek. 1-5pm each Saturday, weather permitting. Free.
  • Beach: Lewes Farmers' Market, 8-noon. In historic area, thru late Sept.
  • Showings at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
Concerts:
  • Jazz jam session at The Nomad Bar at 9th & Orange. Every Saturday, 4-7:30pm, FREE.
  • Local punk show at Mojo Main: Clobbersaurus and Hurt. $5, doors at 9.
  • Delawareans East A.M. at Milkboy Coffee in Ardmore.
  • Blayer Pointdujour at Kung Fu Necktie. 21+, doors at 8. My source says it's free, but I doubt this.

  • Co-Op Farmers' Market, Sundays 10-2. East Main St, Newark. Thru mid-Nov.
  • Beach: Bethany Farmers' Market, Sundays 8-12, JULY 1- early Sept. Garfield Pkwy.
  • Showings at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
  • Foam party at Mojo Main (with DJ, I take it? The club doesn't give much info). 10pm, $5.
Concerts:
  • Dead Can Dance at the Kimmel Center.  I just saw a show poster for them in Chapel Hill, and my reaction was "Whaaaaaat.  They're still around?".  Who knew?
  • The BoDeans show at WCL Philly has been canceled, but ticket holders can use those tickets at their planned performance at WCL at the Queen on October 3rd. More details.

Upcoming: Beta Hi-Fi music festival at the Queen all next week, Rebirth Brass Band at the Blockley next Thurs. WAR (and some other heavy hitter funk bands) at Dell Music Center on Thurs.
