FRIDAY 8/31:

General Events:
  • Clay Date at Delaware Art Museum. Led by an instructor, participants experiment with clay. Supplies, beer, wine, and light snacks provided.  This is only an occasional offering of the DAM. 7-9pm, $30-$35.
  • Full Moon Adventure Hike (featuring the "blue moon" that only occurs once a year) at White Clay Creek State Park.  Friday at 7:30pm. Free with entrance fee.  Call Park Office to reserve a spot (302) 368-6900.
  • Carousel Park Farmers' Market (Rt. 7 in Pike Creek), Fridays 2-6pm. Thru late Sept.
  • Showings of The Do-Deca-Pentathlon and Editor's Pick-see trailer at bottom Ai WeiWei: Never Sorry (about subversive art in communist China) at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
  • Newark Bike Project's End-of-Summer pool party and movie.  For volunteers, and volunteers-to-be. 7-11pm. Food provided, byob. The movie is a bike-racing movie. See link for address.
Concerts:
  • Beta Hi-Fi Music Festival continues at the Queen. 7pm. Tonight's line-up features Newark's The Honey Badgers, and Glim Dropper, among others. FREE. Ticket info.
  • Adam Randolph Band, Robot House, The Max Julius, and It Is What It Is at Mojo Main. 8pm, $5.
  • Funktion, a band of white guys from Kalamazoo who play funk.  Perhaps more notably, Fat Daddy Has Been and Time Relapse open the show.  8pm, $9 (cheap show for the Queen, anyway).
  • Ben Arnold and Johnny Miles play a free show at FDR park in Philly. 7-10pm, FREE.
  • Work Drugs at Johnny Brenda's, $10.

  • Editor's Pick: Arden Fair, 10am-6pm, off of Harvey Rd. Free.  Rain date Sunday. 
  • Winterthur Farm Stand, 9-1, on the side of Rt. 52.
  • Saturday bluegrass jams at Woodside Creamery near Hockessin/Pike Creek. 1-5pm each Saturday, weather permitting. Free.
  • Beach: Lewes Farmers' Market, 8-noon. In historic area, thru late Sept.
  • Showings of The Do-Deca-Pentathlon and Ai WeiWei: Never Sorry (about subversive art in communist China) at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
