Worst DelawareOnline commenter of the week:

This man, a Michael Smith of Delaware, made the following comments on a DelawareOnline article about Joe Paterno's death and legacy.  I don't care which side of the debate you fall on over Joe Paterno - if these statements don't strike you as incomprehensibly callous, there's something wrong:

"The lives Joe Pa touched outweighs the boys that were touched by far so look at it like the government. They're just casualties of war!!"

"Ever think the boys liked it? Lol"

"Honestly, are college students kids? No I don't think so!!"

When a female commenter pointed out to him that the kids were 10 years old, not college students, his reply was:

"Ehh it is what it is!! He's still a great man in my eyes and nothing a woman says will change that!!"

It is what it is?  Casualties of war?  Maybe they liked it?  

By the way, his Facebook profile indicated that he's single (shocking, I know!) and looking for a woman.  I really hope he never manages to talk a woman with young children into dating him.  Scary.

I would link the original article, but it appears DelawareOnline has taken it off of their website.  The link (and the comments) remain on Facebook, however.
