Weekday events of note, 7/16-7/19:

Monday 7/16:

  • Best Coast with Those Darlins at Union Transfer.
  • Dick Dale with Blue Wave Theory at the North Star.
  • Rockford Park summer concert series, featuring the usual mix of jazz and folk bands that play this sort of thing. Still, sometimes that makes the perfect date night - what else is going on on a Monday night? 6:30-8pm, every Monday through mid-August. FREE.
  • Movie Monday at the Trocadero. 21+, $3. Doors at 6:30, show at 8, arrive before 7 and get a free beer and popcorn.
  • Teddy Geiger, Jesse Ruben, and Sarah Miles at WCL Philly.

Tuesday 7/17:
  • Rooftop movie showing of 1989's Always (interesting  choice), on the rooftop parking lot of the Shoprite on the riverfront. Film starts at 8:45, rooftop opens at 7:30.  $5, $3 for kids up to 11. Details here.  Always stars Richard Dreyfuss and an older but still stunning Audrey Hepburn.
  • Trolley Square Farmers' Market, Tuesdays 4-7:30pm thru late Sept. Next to Logan House.
  • Leela James: In the Spirit of Etta James, at the Queen.
  • Beach: Rehoboth Farmers' Market, Tuesdays 12-4 thru late Oct. At lower end of Reho. Ave.

Wednesday 7/18:
  • LCD Soundsystem movie at Theatre N, presented by the Arden Club. Shut Up and Play the Hits starts at 7pm, and is $12.
  • The Cole Younger Band plays a free noontime show at the Grand Opera House.
  • Murder By Death (cello-driven western rock), Corey Chisel, and Ha Ha Tonka at Union Transfer.
  • Here We Go Magic at Johnny Brenda's.
  • Wilmington Farmers' Market, Wednesdays 10-2 thru mid-Oct. On Rodney Square.
  • Bike & hike at Hagley Museum, 3 mile circuit. Every Wednesday through late August. 5-8pm, $2 (free for members and children).
  • 4W5 Blues Jam at the Queen. 7pm, free.

Thursday 7/19:
  • At the Queen: Abitas Brewing Co. presents Beers, Brass, and a Boil. The brass comes in the form of the Rebirth Brass Band, the boil is crawfish, and the beers are all Abitas. More info here.
  • You can also just attend the Rebirth Brass Band show separately, at 8pm at the Queen.
  • Cool Spring Farmers' Market, Thursdays 4-8pm thru late Oct. At the park at 10th & Jackson.
  • Village Fresh Farmers' Market, Thursdays 3-6pm thru late Aug. Concord Ave & Market St.
  • Blues Keeper Band, UJB, and Aunt Artica at Mojo Main.
  • Riot Fest East at Festival Pier, featuring Boy Sets Fire (originally from Delaware), Promise Ring, and more.
  • Shonen Knife at Johnny Brenda's.
  • Chris Botti plays with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann.
  • Karaoke at Mojo Main. 9pm, free
