Weekday events of note, 7/23-7/26:

Monday 7/23:

  • Rockford Park summer concert series, featuring the usual mix of jazz and folk bands that play this sort of thing. Still, sometimes that makes the perfect date night - what else is going on on a Monday night? 6:30-8pm, every Monday through mid-August. FREE.
  • Movie Monday at the Trocadero. 21+, $3. Doors at 6:30, show at 8, arrive before 7 and get a free beer and popcorn.

Tuesday 7/24:
  • Free cult movie at the Queen: Hedwig and the Angry Inch. 8pm, FREE.
  • Trolley Square Farmers' Market, Tuesdays 4-7:30pm thru late Sept. Next to Logan House.
  • Beach: Rehoboth Farmers' Market, Tuesdays 12-4 thru late Oct. At lower end of Reho. Ave.

Wednesday 7/25:
  • Wilmington Farmers' Market, Wednesdays 10-2 thru mid-Oct. On Rodney Square.
  • Matt Richards plays a free noontime show at the Grand Opera House.  
  • Bike & hike at Hagley Museum, 3 mile circuit. Every Wednesday through late August. 5-8pm, $2 (free for members and children).
  • 4W5 Blues Jam at the Queen. 7pm, free.
  • Rufus Wainwright and Josh Ritter at River Stage in Philly.
  • Marshall Crenshaw & the Bottle Rockets at WCL Philly, downstairs.
  • Jackson Browne and Sara Watkins at the Academy of Music.
  • The Frank Ocean show at Union Transfer is long sold-out. I wonder how concert goers will react to his recent kind-of-sort-of coming out?)

Thursday 7/26:
  • A solid Philly line-up at the Queen: Hezekiah Jones and Toy Soldiers.
  • Cool Spring Farmers' Market, Thursdays 4-8pm thru late Oct. At the park at 10th & Jackson.
  • Village Fresh Farmers' Market, Thursdays 3-6pm thru late Aug. Concord Ave & Market St.
  • Karaoke at Mojo Main. 9pm, free
