Weekday events of note, 5/7-5/10:

Monday 5/7:

  • UK feat. Eddie Jobson, John Wetton, and Terry Bozzio, at the Queen (chalk this one up to: the blogger would not have heard of any of these people but is married to a prog-head).
  • Movie Monday at the Trocadero: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.  21+, $3.  Doors at 6:30, show at 8, arrive before 7 and get a free beer and popcorn.

Tuesday 5/8:
  • Trolley Square Farmers' Market, 4-7:30 next to Logan House.
  • Spinto Band residency at Kung Fu Necktie, with Purples (formerly The Teeth) and Alec Ounsworth.
  • Santigold at the Trocadero.
  • Happy Hour Yoga & Craft Beer session at the Queen. 
  • Rehoboth Beach Farmers' Market, 12-4 at the lower end of the avenue.

Wednesday 5/9:
  • Opening day for the Wilmington Farmers' Market, Rodney Square, 10-2pm.
  • Spindrift with Strangers Family Band and Tail at Mojo Main.
  • Special screening of Borat at the Trocadero.  Free advance passes to The Dictator for the first 75 people to arrive. Doors at 6:30, show at 8, 21+. $3 gets you in and goes towards a drink.
  • 4W5 Blues Jam at the Queen. 7pm, free.

Thursday 5/10:
  • Opening day for the Cool Spring Farmers' Market. Thursdays from 4-8pm at Cool Spring Park, 10th & Jackson.
  • Iva, Little Invisibles, and Felix Hunger at the Queen.
  • The Collingwood at The Note in West Chester.
  • Spindrift (who got their start in Delaware) at the North Star Bar.
  • Daniel Johnston (who once collaborated with gone-but-not-forgotten local band The Capitol Years) at Union Transfer.
  • One of my favorite bass player sideprojects (did you ever notice that side projects started by bass players are usually great?), Geology, with The Wooden Sky and The Bailey Hounds at Kung Fu Necktie. 
  • Horse Feathers at Johnny Brenda's.
  • Karaoke at Mojo Main. 9pm, free
