Good news for locals who might want to check out the Firefly Festival but aren't willing to pay the high ticket price: Firefly is now looking for volunteers. Dover is only an hour away from Wilmington, and it's even closer to the beach, if you have a beach property in which to crash.

UPDATE: You actually have to pay $20 just to apply, and you might not be selected, if interest is high. Geez. So not only is this festival avoiding an opportunity to pump money into the local economy by *hiring* people to man concession stands, they're making $20 a head on anybody who even hopes to volunteer. Okay, I get that the musical acts are very expensive and there's no guarantee the promoters will make a profit, but that's a little off-putting.
