This weekend, 4/13-4/15:

I'm tinkering with the format again.  Observe!

~~~~~~~~~~~~
FRIDAY 4/13:
General Events:
  • Prediction: The News Journal will run their usual fluff piece on whether locals are superstitious or not.  Their in-house cartoonist will draw a picture of some big-toothed guy anxiously opening an umbrella under a ladder as a black cat runs underfoot.  I will run my usual snarky comment about The News Journal running their usual fluff piece.
  • First Friday Art Loop in Wilmington (this week instead of the previous week due to Easter).  5-8pm throughout the city. http://inwilmingtonde.com/events/event.php?e=2113
  • A great art exhibit opens at DCCA: "Under Construction" features the works of several artists, who use materials such as plywood, cement, and string to "explore the intersection between construction, architecture, design, and sculpture." Free, runs through early June. http://inwilmingtonde.com/events/under-construction-part-i
  • An exhibit on Kathryn Pyle, Howard Pyle's younger sister, opens at the Del. Art Museum.  K. Pyle specialized in exquisite fairy- and folk-tale inspired art-nouveau-ish drawings.
  • Opening night for the Wilmington Blue Rocks, their 20th season. 7:05 pm.
  • Showings of Jiro Dreams of Sushi and Reuniting The Rubins at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
Concerts:
  • The Paper Janes and The Splashing Pearls at Homegrown Cafe.
  • Robot House and Josten Swingline at Mojo Main.
  • The Ting Tings and MNDR at The Trocadero.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SUNDAY 4/15:

General Events:
  • Volunteer Delaware's "Week Of Service" starts, with an array of one-off volunteer opportunities for those who get warm fuzzies from helping people.  Good for the soul.  Full schedule is here.

  • Drum circle at Mojo Main.
