FRIDAY 4/20:

General Events:

Concerts:
  • Spinto Band play at Rainbow Records for Record Store Day 2012. 7pm.  There will also be a big sale going on at the store, and you can buy the Spintos' latest album there 10 days before the official release. FREE.  (The show, not the album).
  • Free Energy (who played Gild Hall in 2011) at First Unitarian Church.
  • Giant Squid and Stinking Lizaveta (nice name pair-up, there) at the North Star Bar.
  • Fountains of Wayne at Union Transfer.

SATURDAY 4/21:

General Events:
  • Christina River Clean-up. 9am-1pm at several sites within the county. http://www.christinarivercleanup.org/
  • Earth Day Festival at DuPont Environmental Center on the riverfront, 11am.
  • Lecture on the deepening of the Delaware River project. Newark Natural Foods Co-Op, 4pm.
  • Showings of Take Me Home and In Darkness at Theatre N. http://www.theatern.org/Films
  • CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER: Stargazing 101 program at Brandywine Creek State Park. Next star-gazing at BCSP will be June 5th.
Concerts:
  • Tric Town's 10th anniversary concert at the Arden Gild Hall.  It's an expensive show for the promoter to put on, so come out to support the guy who's been trying to elevate the quality of original music in Delaware for the past 10 years.  The line up for the night is: The Bill Riccio 5, The Knobs, The Sky Drops, Atlas, and The Future Unwritten.  It's an awesome bill - you should go.
  • Jeffrey Gaines at the Queen.
  • Classic Albums Live presents Revolver / Rubber Soul, at The Grand.
  • Rodrigo y Gabriela at the Tower Theatre.
  • Stallions, Still Moon Servants, and Villains Like You at Mojo Main.
  • Jazz jam session at The Nomad Bar at 9th & Orange.  Every Saturday, 4-7:30pm, FREE.

Upcoming: Wilmington City Restaurant Week kicks off on Monday. A showing of The Artist at Theatre N on Tuesday, Death Cab For Cutie at the Tower Wed., Good Old War at Union Transfer next Fri.
